New Nordic Movement at Ballymaloe Cookery School

What is the New Nordic Movement all about? Tomorrow Trine Hahnemann teaches members of Slow Food Ireland and the students at Ballymaloe Cookery School in Cork, Ireland.

Ireland goes Nordic, at least for an evening when Slow Food East Cork, Ireland, invites members and cooking school students to an event about the New Nordic Movement. Trine Hahnemann will talk about her work with sustainable solutions, organic sourcing and food made with love.

Ballymaloe Cookery School is a legendary institution. It opened in 1983 and has been teaching students from all over the world. Unlike other cookery schools in the world, it is situated in Shanagarry on their own fully certified 100 acre organic farm and has its own farm shop. In Gaelic, ‘Ballymaloe’ means «the townland of sweet honey» – meal (honey) lua (soft or sweet), while Shanagarry means «old garden».
