Living Danishly: An Evening of Cosiness and Scandi Crime

Hyyge («hoo-ga»), the Danish concept of cosiness and comfortable conviviality, has become a sensation in the UK. Join Trine Hahnemann and a panel of Hygge experts for an evening of Cosiness and Scandi Crime during London Book & Screen Week March 14.

In search of the secret ingredients that have made Denmark the world’s happiest country, people everywhere have been lighting candles, wrapping up warm in shearling slippers and thick blankets, and reconnecting with loved ones over games, food and music.

London Book & Screen Week is collaborating with Waterstones Piccadilly to put on an evening of Scandi crime, followed by a panel discussion on hygge. In the panel of hygge «experts» are Bronte Aurell (The Scandikitchen: The essence of), Signe Johansen (How to Hygge), Louisa Thomsen Brits (The Book of Hygge), and Trine Hahnemann (Scandinavian Comfort Food: Embracing the Art of Hygge), to help us all embrace living a bit more Danishly.

Expect a cosy evening in celebration of all things Hygge, with light refreshments provided. Tickets cost £5 and are available online, by email piccadilly@waterstones.com or by telephone +44 (0) 20 7851 2400
