October 25 Trine Hahnemann gave a «talk» for the second time at TEDx in Krakow, Poland. This time to talk about her work with rye and her love of whole grains as part of a sustainable diet. She talked about The Rye Bread Project and how she started a movement that has reintroduced kernels to the northeastern United States.
The first initiative in The Rye Bread Project was «Smørrebrødsbordet» (the Open Sandwich Table), held in two rounds in November 2010 first as a facilitated discussion on the Danish lunch and later as a public celebration of rye bread. Both events took place at the New Amsterdam Marlet in New York.
As part of her visit to Krakow Trine made Scandinavian lunch for the 600 conference participants and organized a bread baking workshop to show participants the value of rye bread and whole grain meals.
Trine gave her first «talk» at TEDx in 2011 where she talked about how the experience of the New Nordic Cuisine movement can be used by other food cultures. Read more about the first time Trine gave a «talk» at TedX in Krakow, Poland, here.
